Ray Reggie Recommends Bill Gates…

Well, go Bill Gates!  Apparently, Mr. Gates has taken a step away from the whole computer operating system thing to develop some new technology.  This time he is trying to prevent hurricanes from occuring with giant ocean-going tubs that fight hurricanes by draining warm water from the surface to the depths, through a long tube.  Gates and the other scientists and engineers that he is working with have a patent pending on variations of this.  The idea is that vessels could be placed strategically in the predicted path of a hurricane, and they could be designed to be reused or to sink in place and decompose underwater.  The water-moving vessels would not be limited to killing hurricanes, however.  The applications also suggest the “wave induced down welling” could stir up nutrient-rich sediment on ocean floors to promote plant and animal growth in environmentally-degraded areas.  See his design idea here…
